Harnessing power that lay dormant for his first nine professional seasons Sammy Sosa broke out in 1998 hitting 66 home runs in the first of what would become an unbelievable run four consecutive 50+ seasons and by the time of this printing it should by five. This shirt is from the 2000 season when he put on an amazing display of raw power hitting 50 home runs and driving in 138. In the neck of the jersey is a gray patch reading "21 48 00 2." This denotes player number, size, year, and set number, respectively. On the left front tail is the "Majestic" label and adjacent to this is a size tag "48." Across the front of the jersey is the team name "Chicago" and below this is the player number "42." On the back of the jersey is the player name "Sosa" and number "21." All letters are made of blue on white tackle twill. All numbers are made of red on white tackle twill. On the left sleeve is the team logo patch. On the right sleeve is the letter "C" indicating that Sosa was the team captain. The jersey shows even wear throughout with slight fraying evident on the letters and numbers. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
