Bill Dickey was baseball's premier catcher during his time. He anchored Yankee teams that won eight straight pennants and seven World Series. It has been said that "Dickey was not just a catcher, he was a baseball club" in and of himself. These pants were worn by Dickey during the late 1930s, the heart of his Hall of Fame career, and show the battle scars that would be expected from a man who rarely sat out a game. In the waist of the pants is the "Spalding" manufacturers label. Next to this is the player name "W Dickey" in red chain stitch. Dickey has signed the pants in the waist in black with the signature rating a strong 8. The autograph comes with a letter from PSA/DNA. The pants show evidence of significant game use with staining and team repairs. Included with the pants are a pair of blue wool stirrup socks. A tremendous offering from one of the most significant Yankee players of the 1930s and 40s whose career bridged the eras of Ruth, Gehrig, and DiMaggio.
