A complete all-around ball player Bernie Williams has anchored the New York Yankees since coming up with the club in 1991. A four time Gold Glove Award winner Williams has joined the long list of Yankee legends and is sure to be remembered among the best. A perennial .300 hitter he has played in four all-star games. This jersey was worn by Williams during the 1995 season when he hit a respectable .307. On the left front tail is the "Russell Athletic" label with the size "46." Adjacent to this is a white label reading "B. Williams 51-95" and the "100% Polyester" and "1" Extra Length" flag tags. On the left front breast of the jersey is the Yankees "NY" logo and on the back is the player number "51." The logo and numbers are made of blue tackle twill. On the left sleeve is a black armband and number "7" commemorating the death of Mickey Mantle. The jersey shows game use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. It was purchased by our consignor at the 1997 Yankee Fan Fest and is accompanied by a copy of documentation from the Yankee organization.
