This commemorative ring celebrates the career and life of a Hall of Fame ballplayer and selfless human being. Roberto Clemente. His career with the Pittsburgh Pirates spanned the years 1955-1972. In 1972 Clemente joined the 3000 hit club and on 12/31/72 perished in a tragic plane crash, while delivering supplies to earthquake survivors in Nicaragua. The middle of the ring has a black stone with Clemente's number '21' on top in diamonds (21). Embossed around the top is the lettering "Roberto Clemente, 1955-1972." The left shank has "3000 Hits, 1961, 1964, 1965, 1967 Batting Titles, and .317 B.A. The other shank reads "Roberto Clemente, 1966 MVP, and 12 Gold Gloves." The inside band has the stamping "006/200" and "LGB 10k." It is in excellent plus to near mint condition showing only normal wear. A great item for the true Clemente aficionado! Includes a letter of authenticity.
