For 37 years, Roger Maris held baseball's most prestigious record, having hit 61 homeruns in 1961 to surpass Babe Ruth. Although this is Maris' claim to fame, he was quite an accomplished ball player otherwise. A two-time MVP, Maris won the 1960 AL Gold Glove and played on four All-Star teams. A .260 career hitter, he averaged 30 homeruns and 147 hits over 12 seasons. He has signed the side panel of this even-toned MacPhail ball, "Roger Maris." The blue ink signature is flawless, rating a near 10. The autograph comes with a letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA.
