A true Gentleman and an icon of American sportsmanship Lou Gehrig remains a legend, one of those few players who will be remembered and spoke of as long as baseball is played. This approx. 4-1/2" x 6" original b&w photograph depicts Gehrig, circa 1935, at the ball park with his arm around a young fan who is holding a ball that the Iron Horse had most likely just signed for him. Gehrig has signed the picture across his image in black ink. The signature rates a 6 to 7 due to some light flaking of the ink that has occurred in the almost 70 years since Sweet Lou penned it. It has been double matted and framed to an overall size of 8-1/4" x 12-1/4" and is accompanied by a PSA/DNA letter.
