In 21 seasons Walter Johnson compiled some of the most impressive pitching statistics in history. He retired with a 2.17 lifetime ERA and his 416 wins place him behind only Cy Young on the all-time list. In 1936 he joined Ruth, Cobb, Wagner, and Mathewson as the first class elected into Baseball's Hall of Fame. This check was drawn on Johnson's personal account at the Germantown bank of Maryland on March 7, 1946 and has been fully executed in his hand. The signature itself rates about a 7 due to some skipping of the pen on the "W" in "Walter". The check itself shows slight wear with creasing visible and the bank cancellation slightly touches upon Johnson's signature. The check has visual appeal and is a good example. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA.
