This most unique piece has it's origins in the collection of legendary business man, sports fan, and collector Edward Mosley. In his leisure time Mosley enjoyed attending baseball games and other events that legends of the sport would be present. It was during these times that Mosley used the opportunity to have the wooden base of this statue signed by some of the greatest names that the sport has ever known. The square base of the statue has been signed in black ink, presumably fountain pen, by more than 40 Hall of Famers. Signatures include Babe Ruth, Grover C Alexander, W B McKechnie, Bob Feller, Connie Mack, Frank Frisch, Pee Wee Reese, Ford Frick, Bill Terry, William Harridge, Ted Williams, Ed Barrow, Branch Rickey, Joe DiMaggio, Dom DiMaggio, Vince DiMaggio, Bill Dickey, Joe Medwick, Gabby Hartnett, Clark Griffith, Ty Cobb, Casey Stengel, Cy Young, Leo Durocher, Carl Hubbell, Hank Greenberg, Jimmie Foxx, Lefty Grove, Johnny Mize, Lefty Gomez, Joe McCarthy, Honus Wagner, Dizzy Dean, Red Ruffing, Phil Rizzuto, AB Chandler, Warren Spahn, Eddie Collins, and Luke Appling. The signatures rate between 2 and 9. Of the four panels one has faded badly with only a few signatures legible, two panels are a little more than half legible, and the last has remained bold and distinct. The best panel is that which was signed by Ruth, Alexander, and Young. This is not a complete list of signers however we have identified as many as was possible. Unfortunately the head and arms have long since broken off however, the piece still retains tremendous display value. In the center of each side is a small hole that is surrounded by slight discoloration. The autographs come with a letter from PSA/DNA.
