Just two years into his stay with the Yankees, it was clear to all that Babe Ruth's popularity extended far beyond the baseball diamond. In 1921, the Bambino starred in his first motion picture, a 56-minute silent film documenting his rise from obscurity. The movie has drawn a cult base in recent years and this may very well be the key piece of memorabilia from it. Offered here is the only known lobby title card from the movie, which was originally sold at auction as part of an eight-piece set. This is widely considered to be the rarest and best example from the set. The sepia-toned card features a young-looking Ruth holding a bat over his shoulder along the left side opposite of some wording. It grades very close to near mint. Unobtrusive light wrinkles in the upper left and lower left corners, mentioned solely for accuracy's sake, are the only visible blemishes to this untoned gem. The card is matted in brown and tan and housed in an 18" x 20" wood frame.
