For 12 years, Mario Lemieux utilized his size, strength, and skill to be become one of the greatest hockey players of all time. Selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins as the first pick of the 1984 draft he was instantly touted as a "can't miss" prospect. For his performance during his 1984-85 rookie season he was awarded the Calder Trophy and was selected to play on the all-rookie team. He became only the third rookie in hockey history to score over 100 points. He went to lead two Stanley Cup winning teams and play in eight all-star games. He is one of only three players in league history to have won the Ross, Hart, Smythe and Calder Trophies. In 1997 he was honored when the league dropped the mandatory three year eligibility requirement and he was enshrined in Hockey's Hall of Fame. In the collar is the "CCM" manufacturers label and adjacent to this is the wash tag that has the size "52" written in. On the front of the jersey is the team's skating penguin logo. On the back is a black nameplate with the player name "Lemieux" in yellow lettering. Below this is the player number "66" which also appears on both sleeves in yellow/white lettering. All of the letters and numbers as well as the team logo have been ironed on. The jersey show magnificent game use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. It comes with an additional letter of authenticity.
