At Georgia Tech, Quincy Carter won a fierce four-way battle for the starting quarterback job, making him the first freshman to start a season-opening game since Johnny Rauch in 1945. Before college, Carter played two seasons in the Chicago Cubs organization. He was a starting quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys in 2001. In the neck of the jersey is a white label reading "01-48" denoting the year and size, respectively. At the base of the "V" neck is the "NFL" patch. On the left front tail is the "Reebok" label and adjacent is the size tag "48." Next to this is the "4"LB" label. On the back of the shirt is a white nameplate with the name "Carter." The player number "17" appears on the front, back and on each shoulder of the jersey. The letters and numbers are made of blue tackle twill. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
