With Jerry Rice sidelined for most of the 1997 season, J.J. Stokes developed into the pass receiving threat the 49ers hoped he would be when they selected him in the first round of the 1995 NFL draft. At the base of the "V" neck is the "NFL" patch. On the left front tail is the size tag, "95" in red embroidered stitch. Next to this is the "Wilson" exclusive label and adjacent is the size tag, "48." On the back of the jersey is a red mesh nameplate with the name "Stokes." The player number "83" appears on the front, back and on each shoulder of the jersey. The letters and numbers are made of white tackle twill. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
