Elected to the Football Hall of Fame in 1979, Weeb Ewbank may be remembered most for coaching the New York Jets. In 1968, his team pulled off the biggest upset in Superbowl history when the Jets defeated the Colts. It was during his time with the Jets, more specifically the 1973 season, that Ewbank used this playbook. Several hundred pages of schedules, workout information, offensive principles, defensive plays, and general information are housed in this black binder. One of the more interesting pieces in this collection of material is a heavy paper stock card that Weeb used to record which players were fined during the season. It seems that Joe Namath liked to sleep in; he was fined several times for missing meetings and lateness. The binder is in excellent condition as are the contents. On the edge of the binder is Ewbank's personal business card that has "1973" written on it in faded vintage marker.
