This historic ball commemorates the New York Jets' thrilling victory in the 1968 AFL Championship. Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Namath and the Jets overwhelmed the talented Oakland Raiders 27-23 to capture their first and only AFL Championship. The Namath/Maynard combination proved too much to handle for the Raiders as the tandem hooked-up twice for scores and connected on a 52 pass play to set up the winning score. Following the victory, this ball was presented to coach Weeb Ewbank. The Spalding J5-V ball is in excellent condition and reads, " AFL Championship Game Ball To Our Coach Weeb Ewbank Jets 27 - Raiders 23 Dec. 29, 1968". Underneath the inscription, coach Ewbank has signed the ball and the signature rates an 8. This fantastic ball comes with a letter from coach Ewbank. The autograph comes with a letter from PSA/DNA.
