Certain teams will forever be legendary in the minds of baseball fans, and the 1961 New York Yankees are undoubtedly such a team. This Louisville Slugger black bat was presented personally to Elston Howard after the Yankees won the World Series that year and commemorates the Bronx Bombers' championship with the engraving "New York Yankees World Champions 1961" and engraved signatures or block lettering of the Yankees' roster, all of which have been done in gold. The bat exhibits some scratches from being housed in a bat rack in Howard's home over the years--few of which affects the engraved names or signatures--and grades in excellent condition overall. It comes with a letter of authenticity from Howard's wife Arlene.
