This 10-1/2" diameter sterling silver platter was presented to Elston Howard in 1962 by the Dapper Dan Club of Pittsburgh. The platter is engraved "Elston Howard / New York Yankees / For Outstanding Contribution to Baseball During Year of 1961 / Honored by Dapper Dan Club of Pittsburgh / Hilton Hotel, Feb. 4, 1962." The platter grades very good to excellent due to some scratches and tarnishing. Also included is a 12" diameter sterling silver platter presented "To Elston Howard / In recognition of your outstanding contribution and achievement in the field of sports / 100 Blackmen of N.J. / First Annual Awards Dinner / June 12, 1976." Some scratches and tarnish cause this platter to grade in excellent condition. The platters come with a letter of authenticity from Howard's wife Arlene.
