Elston Howard surely received his fair share of awards after his 1963 MVP season, but this one had to have stood out because of the vivid portrait it features. The 11" x 13" wood plaque has a silver plate with this picture of Howard catching along with the engraving "'Greyhound Facts about Champions' / Elston Howard / Most Valuable Player, American League - 1963 / Played in more World Series Games than any other Negro player / Hit home run first time at bat in World Series" and the Greyhound logo. The plaque has some scratches but is in excellent condition overall. It comes with a letter of authenticity from Howard's wife Arlene.
