This 11" x 7-1/2" wood plaque was awarded ot Elston Howard and the engraved plaque reads "Awards in Black '73 / For Significant Contributions to the Well-Being of Blacks (Afro-Americans) Within the Metropolitan New York Area / October 23, 1973 / Sponsored by the Foundation for Research and Education in Sickle Cell Desease (sic)" with another engraved plate reading "Elston Howard." The plaque is almost immaculate and grades near mint. It comes with a letter of authenticity from Howard's wife Arlene.
