Baseball suffered a devastating blow when it was revealed that eight members of the 1919 Chicago White Sox had thrown the World Series. In order to restore the integrity and reputation of the game, team owners elected to bring in a hard-nosed judge by the name of Kenesaw Mountain Landis to rule the game with an iron fist from the newly appointed Office of the Commissioner. Landis's inimitable signature appears on the side panel of this lightly toned ONL Frick baseball in black ink rating an 8. Also signing are umpires Tom Dunn, Bill Stewart, and G.W. Magerkirth in ink, each rating an 8. The autographs come with a letter from PSA/DNA.
