Rogers Hornsby stands alone as the greatest right-handed hitter of all time. With cat-like reflexes and a sprinter's speed, Hornsby menaced opposing pitchers his entire career. As a line drive hitter, he used the entire field to his advantage. Hornsby put together the best six-season offensive stretch in baseball history. From 1920 through 1925, Hornsby won six straight National League batting titles. During that time he hit over .400 three times. His .424 batting average in 1924 still remains the highest batting average for a single season in the modern era. In addition to the six batting titles, Hornsby was also the winner of two Triple Crowns. He led the National League in slugging and on-base percentage in each of the six seasons and during that time he led the league in hits and RBI four times, three times in runs, and twice in home runs. Unquestionably, Hornsby's six-year run will withstand the test of time. This Hillerich & Bradsby Pro Model 125, circa 1929-1930, measuring 36 inches and weighing 37 ounces, is uncracked and shows tremendous game use. Ball marks and cleat marks cover the barrel and the handle shows even wear. The mushroom barrel, thin handle, and small knob are classic Hornsby dimensions. Additionally, the bat has been autographed in vintage black fountain pen rating a 7. This is the only known autographed Rogers Hornsby game-used bat. The provenance of the autograph is like a letter of authenticity from Hornsby himself. It places the bat directly in Hornsby's hands. Undoubtedly, the bat was a gift to a friend or a fan from the illustrious "Rajah." This is the finest game-used Hornsby bat we have seen and is an incredible piece of baseball history. The bat comes with a letter from PSA/DNA.
