Norm Cash was consistently one of the best first basemen in the majors. He hit 30 or more homers five times and 20 or more eleven times, including nine straight years (1961-69), and twice led the league in home run percentage (1965, 1971). Cash won TSN Comeback Player of the Year honors in 1965, finishing second in the AL in home runs (30) and third in slugging (.512), and then won the award again in 1971 when he hit 32 home runs and slugged .531. This Cash Detroit Tigers home knit jersey is circa 1973. On the left breast is the Tigers' "D" insignia and on the back are the player name "Cash" and the player number "25." All of these letters and numbers are made of soft purple tackle twill. The tail of the jersey has been cut and there are remnants of a "Wilson" manufacturer's tag. Cash signed the jersey below the left breast and his black marker signature rates an 8. His signature is very rare as he died at age 51 in a tragic 1986 boating accident. The jersey shows game use and, with the exception of the cut tail, appears to have no alterations of any kind. The autograph comes with a PSA/DNA letter of authenticity.
