Barry Bonds has hit many significant home runs in his career, among them his 73rd of his record-breaking 2001 season and his 600th career home run during the 2002 campaign. Along the way, Bonds has passed several baseball legends on the all-time home run leaders list, marching past names like Ott, Foxx, and Mantle on his way to ever-increasing baseball glory. One of the important stops on this trail came on May 30, 2001, when Bonds hit career home runs 521 and 522 off Robert Ellis of the Arizona Diamondbacks to tie and then pass Ted Williams and Willie McCovey in the ranks of the 500 Home Run Club. Bonds was wearing this 2001 San Francisco Giants home knit jersey when he hit his first home run in that game, career home run 521 and the 27th of his eventual 73 during the season. On the left front tail is the "Russell Athletic" label and below is the "25 Barry Bonds Authenticated 2001" patch. Across the front of the jersey is the name "Giants" and on the back is the player number "25." The letters and numbers are made of black on orange-mustard tackle twill. On the left sleeve is the "San Francisco Giants Baseball Club" patch. On the back of the shirt is a near 10 black Sharpie signature with inscription reading "Barry Bonds HR 521." There is some slight fraying on the letters and numbers. The jersey shows even and consistent game use throughout with no alterations of any kind. It comes with a letter of authenticity from Bonds and the autograph comes with a PSA/DNA letter.
