A hard-throwing, no nonsense pitcher, Rich "Goose" Gossage was one of baseball's most consistent relief pitchers. His skill with the ball earned him nine All-Star Game appearances and the 1978 American League Rolaids Relief Man award. This jersey dates to the 1987 season. On the inside left front tail is the "Rawlings" manufacturer's label with the size "46." Adjacent to that are the "Set 1 1987" and "3 inch extra length" tags. Across the front of the jersey is the team name "Padres" in brown on orange and brown tackle twill. On the back is the player name "Gossage" and number "54" in brown on orange tackle twill. The jersey shows game use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
