Al Jackson, the Mets gutty southpaw, threw all four of the Mets' shutouts in 1962. His 43 career victories were a pre-Seaver Mets high. In the neck of this road flannel jersey is a gray felt patch reading "15-1962." On the left front tail is the "Wilson" label with the size "42." Across the front of the jersey is the team name "New York" and on the back is the player number "15." The letters and numbers are made of blue felt on an orange tackle twill backing. On the left sleeve is the Mets "Skyline" patch and on the right sleeve is the "New York World's Fair" patch. This jersey was worn in 1962 by Al Jackson and in 1963 and 1964 by other players. The original number was "15" and was subsequently changed to number "57." In 1964 the World's Fair patch was added to the shirt. The jersey shows game use and, with the exception of the above-mentioned changes, appears to have no other alterations of any kind.
