Tsuyoshi Shinjo built his reputation as a four time All-Star and two time All-Star Game MVP in Japan behind a strong defensive game. In his debut season with the Mets, he was tied for fifth among all National League outfielders with 12 assists. On the inside left tail is the "Majestic" label and below this is the flag tag reading "Set E 2003." Next to this is the size tag "44." Across the front of the jersey is the team name "New York" and on the back is the name "Shinjo." The player number "5" appears on both the left breast and on the back of the jersey. The letters and numbers are made of blue ribbed tackle twill on an orange/black tackle twill backing. On the left sleeve is the Mets "Skyline" patch. The jersey shows game use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
