Housed within this framed display are signatures of the first 12 living players voted into the Hall of Fame by the Baseball Writers Association of America (Willie Keeler was also inducted in 1939 but had died 16 years earlier). The 1939 First Day Cover, commemorating 100 years of baseball, bears nine vintage ink signatures including those of Babe Ruth, Cy Young, Walter Johnson, Honus Wagner, Tris Speaker, Connie Mack, Grover C. Alexander, Larry Lajoie, and George Sisler. All have signed using the same pen, rating strong 8s to some near 10s. Mounted below are three additional signatures including Eddie Collins (cut from a document), Christy Mathewson (cut from a document), and Ty Cobb (on line paper). Each of these rate an average of 8 as well. Also mounted within the display is a colorful "Baseball Centennial" header and a black and white picture and biography sheet detailing the signers. An incomparable collection of early Hall of Fame signatures including a great many rarities. Measures 14.5" x 17" overall. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA.
