In 1928, the New York Yankees took on the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series, a rematch of the 1926 Series. The Yankees tried to get back at the Cardinals for beating them 4-3 in the last World Series. Despite injury, the Yanks demonstrated why they were the best team ever, sweeping the Series and capping it off with a 7-3 victory in which Babe Ruth hit three homers. This card was filled out in pencil but later erased. Some players listed on the scorecard include Alexander, Frisch and Rhem of the Cardinals and Ruth, Gehrig, Dickey and Meusel of the Yankees. There is also a postcard photograph of the entire Cardinals team.
