Ted Williams was the greatest hitter of his era and perhaps of all time. Retiring with an outstanding 521 home runs, he was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1966. This original painting of the "Splendid Splinter" shows him where he will always be remembered: up at bat. Done in a stylized technique with gradiated color changes, this painting resembles the look of a cartoon. Behind Williams is a royal blue background of circles representing the thousands of fans filling the stadium. This painting has been signed by the artist in black paint in the lower left corner. The painting was done on a 16" x 20" canvas and framed in an elaborate golf leaf frame to the final size of 21" x 25".
