Vida Blue was truly a baseball great. Signed by the Oakland A's at the early age of 19, he proceeded to lead the league in era and be named MVP when he was 22. This painting shows Blue where he will always be remembered: on the pitcher's mound in his Oakland A's uniform. The painting, done in a combination of acrylic and airbrush, was done on a stretched canvas measuring 24" x 36" x 1.5" with no unsightly staples, allowing it to be beautifully displayed with or without framing. Inset in the lower left corner is an acrylic wash of Blue in action. The wall in the background is marked "Miller" to honor Miller Lite's support of this project. The painting is signed in the lower right corner by "D. Arrigo," the artist, in black marker. Proceeds from this item go to the Baseball Assistance Team.
