Charlie Chaplin was one of the greatest and widely loved silent movie stars. From "Making a Living" (1914) to "The Gold Rush" (1925), as well as numerous others, he made many of the funniest and most popular films of his time. This lot is comprised of 3 vintage 17"x9.5" Charlie Chaplin comic books printed in 1917. Included are: "Charlie Chaplin's Comic Capers" (Series 1, No. 315), "Charlie Chaplin in the Army" (No. 318), and "Charlie Chaplin Up in the Air" (No. 317). All are marked "M.A. Donohue & Co. Chicago New York" and have full color front and back covers with black/white interiors. While all three are slightly yellowed with age, "In the Army" and "In the Air" are each in excellent condition, while "Comic Capers" is in good condition, with separations along the spine. All have "Charlotte Harder" written in cursive along the top of the cover in pencil and on the first page in pen. Platinum Age comic books are extremely rare and highly desirable!
