From the Golden Age of Comic Books come two rare collectibles from DC. The first is one of the earliest issues, No. 13 of World's Finest Comics, published in the spring of 1944. Issues 1-17 of World's Finest had cardboard covers which preserved the condition. This particular copy has been graded "very fine 8.0" by CGC Universal Grading Service. Extraordinary cover art by Jerry Robinson shows the three featured superheroes Superman, Batman, and Robin joining forces to urge the American public to support the war effort by fighting paper waste by recycling newsprint and to "hang one on the paper hanger of Berlin." The pages of this issue have retained its original off-white color. The second book offered in this lot is No. 26 of Wonder Woman, the dynamic trio's beautiful female counterpart. The grade by CGC is "very fine 7.5" and the pages are light tan to off-white. H.G. Peter provides the cover art showing Wonder Woman rescuing two encapsulated damsels in distress from the Golden Women a.k.a. forces of evil. This issue was published Nov./Dec. 1947.
