"Pistol" Pete peaked as an NBA showman and superstar, unsurprising given the comfort he must have felt as a Louisiana native and LSU legend. Maravich made the All-NBA First Team in 1976 and 1977 and the All-NBA Second Team in 1978 to build on his 1973 Second Team selection. He led the NBA in scoring in 1977 with a personal high 31.1 ppg, proving that he could be a dominant offensive force on any level. This Maravich New Orleans Jazz home mesh jersey with shorts is from the late 1970s. On the left front tail of the jersey is the "New Orleans Jazz" Sand-Knit Exclusive tag and below it is the "Sand-Knit" manufacturer's tag with the size "44." The "Jazz" team name logo is sewn onto the front of the jersey and the player number "7" is sewn onto both the front and back of the jersey. All of these letters and numbers are made of a shiny material that appears to be vinyl. The player name "Maravich" is sewn onto the back of the jersey in purple tackle twill. Included with the jersey is a matching pair of shorts. In the waistband is a "Sand-Knit" manufacturer's tag with the player number "7" written on it in black marker. Adjacent to this is a white knit patch with "18" printed on to represent the number of the another player. The Jazz team logo appears on the left thigh. The jersey and shorts show game use, including some cracking of the vinyl numbers and letters on the jersey, and it has been custom tapered down each side to accommodate Pete's narrowly framed torso and shows extra length without designating such. It is sourced from a preeminent New Orleans restaurateur. Comes with an additional letter of authenticity.
