Known simply as the "Great One," Wayne Gretzky is almost certainly the greatest hockey player the world has ever seen. For a man who holds or shares a mind-boggling 61 NHL records, any other name would be unfit. Between 1979 (his first full NHL season at age 18) and 1987, Gretzky led the league in scoring eight consecutive times, with point totals ranging from 137 to an astounding 215. His bid for a ninth consecutive scoring title failed the next year, when a knee injury halted his production at just 149 points. Amazingly though, after being traded to the Los Angeles Kings in the off-season, Gretzky reclaimed his position as the league's scoring king for two more years during the 89-90 and 90-91 seasons. When reviewing Gretzky's career as a whole, it's as if Gretzky knew something about the game that no one else did. Among his piles of NHL records are most goals in a season, 92; most assists in a season, 163; most points in a season, 215; most goals, 110, most assists 236, and most points, 346, in a playoff career; most games with three or more goals, 48; most seasons with 100 or more points, 13; and highest career average points per game, 2.23. Gretzky's most impressive stat however, is without a doubt his career points total, 2,857, placing him a whopping 970 points ahead of the game's second all-time scorer, his long-time friend and teammate, Mark Messier. In addition to his superhuman scoring abilities, the man was also lauded for his sportsmanship, receiving the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy five times in his career. Perhaps most importantly though, is the fact that Gretzky ended his career with four Stanley Cup championships under his belt. On the back right tail of the jersey is "Sandow SK" screened on indicating the manufacturer. On the front of the jersey is the "OILERS" team logo patch. On both sleeves, and on the back is the player number "99" done in orange on white numbering. Across the back is "GRETZKY" done in white embroidery on a blue nameplate. Inside the fly of the pants is the "Rawlings" manufacturer's tag with wash instructions, and size "38" on it. On the back of the waistband is another "Rawlings" manufacturer's tag with wash instructions, and size "38" on it. Above that written in black marker is the player number "99." The uniform shows good game-use, and appears to have no alterations of any kind. The jersey comes with an additional LOA.
