Bill Mathis was a great all around football player, and made it to the Pro Bowl in 1961 and 1963. He used this helmet in the 1963 Pro Bowl. The helmet does not have the Jets logo on either side, because it was painted over for the Pro Bowl. The paint is slightly cracked in some areas, but indicates game-use. There are also some small red marks around the helmet. The signature is on the left side of the helmet, where he wrote, "Bill Mathis, N.Y. Jets, #31." The signature is in black Sharpie and rates a 9. The autograph comes with a letter from PSA/DNA.
