Muhammad Ali is considered by most, including himself, to be the greatest heavyweight boxer of all-time. During ESPN's special on the 50 Greatest Athletes, Ali was ranked third best athlete of all-time. While training for the Larry Holmes fight in 1980, boxing's greatest legend used these Everlast gloves. The gloves are black, 14 ounces with a yellow Everlast label on the wrists. They have gold trim, gold lacing and show heavy use. Due to being taped, the Everlast label on both gloves have heavy scuffing. Pete Morkovin, a boxing collector of Muhammad Ali memorabilia for 25 years, obtained these gloves personally at Deer Lake while Ali was training. The gloves come with a letter of provenance from Morkovin.
