The first American ever to win four track and field gold medals in a single Olympics (1936 Berlin), Jesse Owens set Olympic records in all but one of the events he competed in. By the end of the 36 games, also known as the "Hitler Olympics," Owens had even the German fans cheering for him. We offer a framed (17-13/16" x 21-15/16") display piece that features as the centerpiece a July 1, 1979 Olympic commemorative First Day Cover from Puerto Rico that has been boldly signed by Jesse Owens, who added the inscription "36 Olympics." The signature grades a strong 9. Above the cover is an original 1936 German postcard entitled "Berlin Reichssportfeld" picturing a beautiful black and white image of the stadium. Below the cover is a picture of Owens in his Ohio State track & field uniform, with two U.S. Olympics Hall of Fame cards on either side. Comes with a letter from PSA/DNA.
