Trailblazer Althea Gibson worked her way up from the poverty of Harlem to become the first African American to win Championships at Wimbledon and the U.S. Open in the late 1950s. We offer a 17-13/16" x 21-15/16" framed display featuring an 8" x 10" black and white Wimbledon UPI action wire photo dated 7/4/1956, with a 3" x 5" cut mounted below that. Gibson has signed in ballpoint rating a 9 with the added inscription "Best Wishes." Arthur Ashe was a man of fire and grace, his quiet confidence in the face of social injustice made him an ambassador for the sport in later life. This picture and cut signature are mounted in a 12" x 15" frame. The signature has been done in pencil and rates a strong 8. Comes with a letter from PSA/DNA.
