Fairly was less known for his consistent hitting than his astonishing lack of speed. In his last season in the Majors he was asked if he'd lost any speed over his career, and he jokingly replied, "there was nothing to lose." On the left front tail is the "W.A. Goodman & Sons" tag with size "42." Adjacent are two tags, one with the name "Fairly" and the other with year "1968" done in blue script-style chain stitch. Across the front is the team name "Dodgers" in blue felt and below it is the number "6" in red. On the back is a larger blue number "6." The jersey was also worn in 1969, but the "1969" patch has been removed from the left sleeve. The jersey shows game-use, and except for the change mentioned above appears to have no alterations of any kind. The jersey also comes with an additional LOA.
