Mark McGwire had one of the most powerful swings in the history of baseball. McGwire has the combination of tremendous athletic ability, and the stature of a greek god, which equated to the 1987 Rookie of the Year, twelve All-Star appearances, and 583 career homeruns. This jersey comes from his remarkable record breaking season where he hit an incredible 70 homeruns. Inside the front left tail of the jersey is the "Rawlings" manufacturer's tag. Attached is a size tag reading "52," and a tag reading "SET 1 1998." Across the front of the jersey is the "Cardinals" team logo patch. Across the back of the jersey is "MC GWIRE" on a grey nameplate. Below that is the player number "25." All lettering and numbering is done in red on black tackle twill. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. The jersey comes with an additional LOA from Dave Phillips, a Major League umpire from 1970-2002.
