Hank Aaron was born on February 5th, 1934 in Mobile, Alabama. "Hammerin Hank Aaron" did not get this nickname for just any reason. Aaron is the most prolific homerun hitter of all time. He is a one man record book. Over his 23 year MLB career, he went yard an astonishing 755 times. Not only does he hold the all-time homerun record, but he also holds 12 other Major League career records. Among those are most games played, most at-bats, most total bases, and most RBIs. Hank was also a three-time Gold Glove winner, and appeared in 24 All-Star games. For 20 consecutive seasons Hank hit at least 20 homeruns. In 69 post season at-bats, Hank was pretty clutch hitting .362 with twenty-five hits, six of which were homeruns. The home jersey featured in this lot was worn by Hank in 1974, the year that he broke "The Great Bambino's" record hitting his 715th homerun in his home park. On the front left tail of the jersey is the year tag reading "74." Across the front of the jersey is "Braves." Below that and on the back is the player number "44." All lettering and numbering is done in blue, white, and reddish tackle twill. Inside the back of the collar is the "Wilson" manufacturer's tag with wash instructions, and jersey size "42" on it. On both sleeves is the Braves team logo patch. The jersey is autographed on the left abdomen in black marker rating an 8. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. The autograph comes with a letter from PSA/DNA. The jersey comes with an additional LOA.
