No other player in sport has enjoyed the success of Bill Russell who lead the Boston Celtics Dynasty of the 1960s to 11 Championships in 13 of his Professional seasons. A man who needs no introduction, Russell's place in history stands firm as perhaps the greatest basketball player of all-time. Offered is a simply magnificent mid-1960s Boston Celtics warm-up jacket worn by Russell during the height of his career. The jacket is beautifully constructed from Celtic green fleece by "Horace Partridge" and has their label in the collar with the size "46." Across the front is the team name "Boston" in white on yellow tackle twill affixed to the jacket with a wide yellow stitch. On each sleeve is a white and yellow shamrock also done in white on yellow tackle twill. On the back is a white satin snap-on nameplate reading "Russell" in green tackle twill. The interior of the nameplate shows fraying. The jacket shows use and is in it's original unaltered state missing only one original button. It comes from the collection of a well known Boston collector where it has resided for the past 20 years. It is accompanied by documentation explaining it's origins from an employee of the Boston Garden. A museum quality artifact of a player who's influence on the game he played was so profound that it changed forever.
