He has said he is afraid of heights but that hasn't kept Tim Duncan from playing above the crowd. The silky-smooth, 7-foot San Antonio Spurs center-forward, is as steady a performer as there is, using his cotton candy-soft outside jump shot and power moves inside to rack up a 21.8 ppg career scoring average in just four seasons, consistently shooting over 50% from the floor, sweeping the boards clean and playing a rock-hard defense. Duncan, the NBA's Rookie of the Year in 1997-98, is teamed with fellow Spur 7-footer David Robinson up front and this "Twin Towers" combo took the team to the championship in 1998-99. Duncan was (as he has been from his first season) an All-NBA First Team selection in 1999-2000, a season in which he was also co-MVP of the All-Star Game and scored a career-high 46 points in a January 10 game against the Utah Jazz. This white home mesh Spurs jersey was worn by Duncan during that season. On the left front tail is the "NBA Authentics" label and next to this is the "Nike" label with the size "50." Adjacent is the "San Antonio Spurs" label. Below the Nike label is the "Length +4" label. On the lower left is the wash tag and under this the year tag "1999-2000." Across the front of the shirt is the name "Spurs" in black on silver tackle twill and on the back is the name "Duncan" in black tackle twill. The player number "21" appears on both the front and back. The numbers are made of black on silver tackle twill. On the upper left front is the "NBA" patch. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
