Silas attended Creighton University where he set an NCAA record for the most rebounds in three seasons and averaged 20.6 rebounds per game in 1963. In the NBA, Silas collected more than 10,000 points and 10,000 rebounds during his distinguished 16 year career, played in two All-Star games, and won three championship rings (two with the Boston Celtics in 1974 and 1976, and one with the Seattle SuperSonics in 1979). He was named to the All-NBA Defensive First Team twice and to the All-NBA Defensive Second Team three times. On the back inside tail is the "Rawlings" manufacturers size 42 tag. Adjacent are two additional tags with the wash instructions and a faded tag (Extra Inches). Across the front of the jersey is "HAWKS." On the front and back is the player number "29." All lettering and numbering is done in red on white tackle twill. On the back inside waistband of the shorts is the "Rawlings" manufacturers size 34 tag. Adjacent are two additional tags with the wash instructions and an embroidered strip tag with “Caldwell 27.” On the back inside waistband of the pants is the "Rawlings" manufacturers size 34 tag. Adjacent are two additional tags with “#29 33” INSEAM” and an embroidered strip tag with “Silas 29.” The jersey and shorts show game-use and appear to have no alterations of any kind. The pants show wear and appear to have no alterations of any kind.
