Edward 'Whitey' Ford's control and precision as pitcher of the New York Yankees is what led team manager Casey Stengel to refer to him as the 'money pitcher.' The eight-time All-Star won 10 of his 22 World Series appearances the most pitcher appearances ever and earned the Cy Young Award in 1961. 'The Chairman of the Board' a nickname given to him for confidence and intelligence on the mound was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1974. Whitey Ford has hand signed this MLB baseball, and added the inscription "CY 61". A Steiner Sports Certificate of Authenticity is included.
