Pair of Brown “POST NEW YORK” manufactured boxing gloves, approximately 14-16 oz. with a large white cloth label. White vinyl trim around both wrists extending to the lace area. The laces are intact. Inside each glove is “C.C.” written in black ink for Cassius Clay. Accompanied by a detailed letter of provenance which states, in part, “…my father was born in Louisville, KY worked at the Columbia Gym in the late 1950’s and 1960’s where Cassius Clay trained under Joe Martin. This pair of boxing gloves was on display at the gym in a showcase and were used by Clay. My father acquired them in the 60’s…Clay has already become the Heavyweight Champ and was no longer living in Louisville (signed) Daniel Devlin”. The gloves were presented to us as training worn and in our opinion, show light use. Accompanied by a second letter of provenance from Peter Morkovin.
