On March 18, 1991, the Philadelphia 76ers retired Wilt Chamberlain's No. 13. They had 25 special jerseys made up for the occasion and 24 of those were signed by Chamberlain and had "Powers" manufacturer tags in the collar. The 25th jersey, this one being offered, was personally presented to Chamberlain at the pre-game ceremony and was not signed or tagged. On the front left tail reads, “W. C. 1966-67” embroidered in blue chain-stitching. Across the chest reads, “PHILA” and the player number “13” appears on both the front and on the back. All numbering and lettering is done in red on blue tackle twill sewn directly onto the white jersey. Accompanied by the original 76ers team press release dated, “March 18, 1991”. The title reads, “76ERS TO RETIRE CHAMBERLAIN’S #13 TONIGHT” and the first paragraph reads, “The Philadelphia 76ers will retire former 76er and Philadelphia native Wilt Chamberlain’s jersey, #13, in a pre-game ceremony, this evening, Monday, March 18, 1991, when 76ers face the Orlando magic at the Spectrum.”
