First ballot Hall of Famer Derek Jeter received 99.7% of the voting. Drafted by the New York Yankees in the first round of the 1992 amateur draft, “The Captain” of the historic franchise spent his entire career with the Yankees. Jeter won 5 World Series as well as 5 Gold Gloves to go with other career accolades. Jeter’s first full season was in 1996, a season which would bring him the Rookie of the Year Award as well as his first World Championship. On the front left tail is the Russell Athletic manufacturers tag size “46” with washing instructions. Attached are two flag tags reading “100% POLYESTER” and “2” EXTRA BODY LENGTH” as well as a strip tag reading “JETER - 96”. On the left chest is the iconic interlocking “NY” Yankees logo and on back is the player number “2”. All numbering and lettering is done in navy blue tackle twill. On the left sleeve is a black memorial armband worn in memory of broadcaster Mel Allen. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use. Accompanied by a MEARS LOA grading the jersey a perfect A10 stating the jersey compares favorably to the 1997 Derek Jeter Pinnacle card.
