Grey Flannel Auctions (GFA) is a family-run business founded in 1989. GFA quickly transitioned into one of the industry's best authenticators and dealers of high profile sports memorabilia. Specializing in vintage game-used jerseys and high-end HOF autographs, GFA has held 49 catalog auctions satisfying collector needs. GFA continues to auction one-of-a-kind pieces; realizing record prices and private sales in excess of $75 Million.

 

Industry records for the highest prices ever paid for a game-used basketball jersey (273k) and football jersey (113k), MJ's "Flu Game" sneakers (104k), and Babe Ruth “Called-Shot” uniform (1.1m).

Having grown up in this hobby since childhood, Michael joined Grey Flannel after graduating from the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado Boulder in 2005. The young gun brings youth, enthusiasm and passion into the established industry. Areas of expertise include marketing, team building and strategic planning. Michael has worked his way up through the ranks and is now considered the front of the house and the first line for all customer relations. He takes a more aggressive and passionate approach when negotiating, teaching and empowering customers to make educated decisions. Michael’s main focus and area of expertise is game-used uniforms, recently being selected as a lead authenticator for Photo-Match.com

Jake Alves

Jake comes from a baseball family with his father having worked in major league baseball for over 30 years, his mother spending 15 years in the sport, and his brother currently working in the game. After graduating from the University of Arizona in 2014, Jake took his passion in sports to the baseball industry attending the Scout Development Program and interning for MLB teams for multiple seasons. Jake joined Grey Flannel in April 2017 as the inventory manager and immediately made an impact on the catalog production. Jake assists in all areas of production including writing, photography, research, as well as maintaining and managing all inventory in the warehouse.
